Pleated skirt, Miao people, China. Cotton, silk. Mid-20th century. 18" long by 38.5" wide at waistband. Skirt is open at the side, with the pleats joined to a wide cotton waistband. The designs are wax-resist in indigo and there are small squares of colored silk appliqued on two center bands, most of which are frayed from use.
