antique small afshar rug with attractive tulip design field. Nice example with all wool foundation. Overall pretty good condition with good even low pile, original selvages and fancy end finishes. All natural colors with very nice tomato reds, lovely greens and typical slightly oxidized afshar deep blues. Quirky use of white cotton only in the fancy end flat weave. Reasonably clean. One of my favorite afshar designs. ca. 1880. 3'7" x 4'9"
