An Outstanding Antique Uzbek Bokhara Suzani / Susani dating between mid and third quarter of 19th Century.. This fine masterpiece has very fine silk embroidery in a combination of chain-stitched and basma/ flat stitch on a linen Karbos ground. The design is exceptional fine and free flowing. Lattice field is rendered with alternating floral repertoire and the borders repeat a combination of palmettes and floral discs. The variation of the motif gives the visual effect of the piece a vibrancy and an energy. The colours are magnificent. It has a lovely natural patina that reflects suzanis of very good age. a lovely textile art worthy of any collection and better than the photos. Email me your questions.
