An elegant antique inscribed Ottoman embroidery dating to 19th century. It is made from a combination of silk, cotton and metal thread embroidered in a combination of stitches including chain-stitch. The subtle design is really beautiful. The geometrically arranged field design and how inscription is arranged within it, is executed so beautifully. The soft colour combination also is gorgeous. We see light and dark blues, red and white mixed with golden beige and browns. The borders are beautifully finished with more calligraphy. It has precision one would often associate with court work.
