a museum grade silver gold and carnelian Tekke Turkoman / Turkmen Egme / Egma crown attached to tall bridal hats, dating to mid 19th century. This very rare mammoth ethnographic jewellery with its archaic design and exceptional quality is one of the pinnacle pieces of Turkoman Jewellery and this is unquestionably one of the most superior examples out there and better than many published pieces. (see image of a published example in Schletzer book). It has wonderful cut out work, beautifully drawn motifs that add to the fantastic design with carnelian stones, and original fabric sides with silver appliques and buttons that would wrap around the hat which it would be attached on. In good shape with lovely patina. a true collector piece. Email me your questions. size: 57cm (22") wide and 17cm (6.5") height. Crown part 27cm (10.5") wide. The side flaps 11cm (4.25") wide.
