Persian Dragon rug, 187/145 cm.,19thC.Attributable either to Kirman(Kerman) because of the deep'Bordeaux'red, or to Isfahan because of the dragon and animal phantasies. This thin and exquisite rug has survived well due to high quality wool and extremely fine knotting. The border - unlike most pictorial rugs- is assymetric - each animal being different- and is completed with three 'Djinns'.The top kilim end has vanished, but no loss of knots and all sides secured. Beautiful colors and good overall condition for its considerable age.
