Alebrije, Mexico City. Paper mache over wire armature, paint, Early to mid 20th century, 9" (23 cm) high by 15" (38 cm) long by 16" (40.5 cm) wide, Ex. Fred and Nancy Roscoe collection, California. This haunting chimera was collected by the Roscoes in the 1950s and is largely intact, with scattered areas of missing paint. Likely made by the same artist as the other alebrije they collected, either Pedro Linares or someone in his family.
