An Armenian, Cilician Marash Antependium needlework - second half 19th c.. This lovely and rare panel is in good state of preservation, with fresh colours, just a little wear due to natural oxidation. It measures 160 x 125 cm (63 x 49 inches) .i can see between 5-6 different colours, hand embroidered on an elegant dark grey, hand-woven cloth. a similar needlework can be seen in the Ohanian Collection (on Youtube, last exhibit).
