Very Unusual Baluch Balisht full Bag with beautiful kilim back- i believe this piece is similar in design and coloration to a piece (#8) found in an article by Tom Cole's icoc Paper - The Relationship of Baluch Weavings To An Earlier Anatolian Model. Measures 21"x 37"including kelim. The colors are all natural except for small tufts that have been embroidered to the center of the kelim at the bottom of the bag and the four corners. The piece is very meaty and heavy. It has a very good high-quality wool with lots of body. i believe this bag may have been woven with the intention that it would also serve as a prayer rug because of the two yellow diamonds at the one end. There is still remains of what was embellishing tufts at the middle of both sides and the four corners of the piece. The selvages are wrapped with animal hair. There are a few small moth bites near the top of the piece and a little gauge at the very top left corner. Otherwise in great full thick pile. a Great Collectors Piece!!!
