7305 Peking Chinese rug
This circa 1900 Peking Chinese Oriental rug measures 3’2” x 5’8’. This is a very interesting motif. i have never seen it before. There are three 10 sided medallions, each containing a sprig of flowers and a bird. The flowers in the center medallion are potted and the bird looks like a kiwi, all on a light blue ground. Here is something you don’t see much of in an antique Chinese rug.. a minor reciprocal border with the rams horn motif in ivory and blue. The major border as an ivory ground with a scrolling leaf and flower design with bats for good luck. There are two on each side and one in the center at each end. This is very cute. The ends and sides are intact. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays shipping with insurance
