19th century Turkmen tent band fragment. How about those two large distinct Botehs which are closely aligned with Beshir's and Kirghiz rugs (similar to the picture clip i added to the end) Can you find another tent band with Botehs? Then there is the twirling ribbon of the main border, not just the common zigzag designs you often find. Can you find this twirling ribbon in another tent band? The triangular shapes in the center post are not common. Then there are tiny weeping trees in the outer guard border mostly found in old Persian rugs. i admire the fact that the weaver was not afraid to give this work of art extra flavor with the use of some unique elements not found in the tent band repertoire. The crisp drawing, cheerful palette and good coloration would make a great wall hanging, tabletop or chair adornment. The approximate size is 18in x 18.5in.
