This exciting antique Caucasian runner of Shirvan design is characterized by expertly detail work, and an exciting treatment of color, from the stacked medallion field outward.
Antique Caucasian Tribal Shirvan Runner Rug, Origin: Caucasus , Circa: Last Quarter of the 19th Century – Here is a gorgeous antique Oriental rug – an antique tribal Caucasian Shirvan runner rug. Woven in the Caucasus by the inimitable Caucasian rug makers, this fantastic antique Shirvan runner rug is resplendent with traditional Caucasian elements of design. Primarily characterized by its narrow central field of stacked medallions, this highly impressively detailed composition exudes an attention to detail and a mastery of craft. Perhaps the most striking single aspect of this antique Caucasian Shirvan runner rug is its exciting treatment of color: for each of the stacked medallions is radiant against the neutral brown tone of the field, with the greens, reds, yellows, and blues which they’re made up off standing out brilliantly. Similarly brightly colored details are starkly presented against an ivory border, to a similarly exciting effect. Overall, this antique tribal Caucasian Shirvan runner rug is a brilliant composition, consisting of exquisite detail work and an exciting utilization of color throughout.
As see in pictures, there were a tiny cruel old repair and few knots repairs at borders and one end.
