moroccan berber high atlas horse cover. The Berbers of this harsh, high region weave rugs and other textiles for wear, furnishing, storage and to decorate their animals. Many families will have these covers and usually reserve the finest for ceremonial days. This flat weave is part kilim, part embellished with designs and has some knotted strips which simulate rows of flowers. It is woven with a mixture of local wool and undyed goat hair.
