Interestingly each side of the rug, extending in at different lengths, has been woven with cotton warps not wool, but with no disruption to the back or surface design, absolutely the same in every other respect; some areas throughout the red field have been reknotted also very minor areas of corrosion and knot loses in the star border, all easily restorable.
