#7677 Peking Chinese Rug
This circa 1900 Peking Chinese Oriental rug measures 9’0” x 12’5” (274 x 381 cm). It has a small medallion of a wreath of flowers on a field color like a pale tangerine sherbet. The corners are worked in a floral motif in three shades of blue, purple, red and ivory. The major blue border has a hanging lamp in two corners and a nice little floral motif in the opposite corners. The border displays the character Shui meaning good luck or happiness. The long borders contain four butterflies and a nice rendition of a beribboned sword piercing two orbs over a flowing ribbon surmounted by a very attractive spray of flowers. It is full pile with complete ends and sides. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance.
