Boro Futon - Shibori Sparrow and Bamboo
An overall stunning boro futon and a highlight from our collection.
This futon has several remnants of shibori and katazome handspun indigo cottons in a bold and graphic arrangement.
Sparrow and bamboo are common motif pairings in Japanese culture. Sparrows are represented in Japanese folklore as being obsessed with honor - especially in the repaying of debts.
Sashiko stitching throughout.
We'll let the photos speak for themselves.
Early to mid 1900's
Dimensions: Width: 38"; Length: 62"
