An elegant antique gold, silver and carnelian Tekke Turkoman / Turkmen tribe bridal jewellery ornament known as Girda or Gulyakhan. Dating to 19th century, this circular container shaped jewellery was part of the bridal outfit attached on the garment with sacred scripts placed inside it to bring protection and prosperity to the bride. They were often very cherished jewellery items and thus very rare to find. This particular example is very rare type. It is made of silver with gold work on the elegant archaic desig and an oval carnelian at the centre. As good as many published examples. a real gem worthy of good collections. Size: 9cm (3.5”) diameter and 1cm (1/3”) thick.
