An brilliant and top tier example of an antique Uzbek Lakai Tribe silk embroidered Ilgich / Ayna Khalta hanging dating to the last quarter of 19th century. This particular example is top tier in every respect. The design is fantastic. The central cross motif with rams horn endings has outstanding intricate detail. The four surrounding motifs of stars and insect design are also executed really well. The colours are brilliant and on the spot, contrasting beautifully against the black ground cloth. Finally the chain stitched silk embroidery is not only executed with perfection, it is also directional which gives the motif texture. In mint condition with gorgeous maroon tassels and floral cotton lining. As good as it gets. Size 60cm x 60cm (24” x 24”). Email your questions
