Almost square small Luri bag from the late 1800’s. This tent bag is an exemplary example of that tribe’s best weaving quality with its use of strong yet warm and shimmering deeply saturated colors (all vegetable dyed), a spongy-type high-quality wool and a well-balanced design. Love the thin brown outlining of the hooked motifs surrounding the diamond medallion usually referred to as the “running dog motive”. The multicolored reciprocal dragon motifs in the white and blue borders frame a well-contrasted red field. Small multicolored squares dotting the top outer border is an adorable added touch. Its macramé panel at the bottom with its multicolored chevrons together with white and black rectangles designs gives a nice finish to a well-appointed piece. It has almost a hundred percent of its original full pile and it’s beautifully stripped flatwoven back panel. There are no repairs. Member of rugrabbit since 2007. 18.6 x 21 inches, 47.24 x 53.34 cm.
