Tujia Wedding Blanket Fine and rare antique panel from Tujia minority, in Guizhou, Southern China wedding blanket with butterfly and lotus scroll motifs (please note that this type of lotus scrolling is an adaptation/interpretation of Ming blue and white ceramics). This piece is composed of all handspun silk floss weft embroidery and cotton thread field. The process for weaving in the alternating black and white threads on the face of the textile is quite complex, as may be observed in enlargements. Excellent condition, circa early 20th ce. l: 118cm/46in and w: 39cm/15.5in.
