Serapi, blue field, medium sized ( 190x128 cm ). Over 100 yrs old ( survived the 2nd ww in a Berlin household) this rug shows signs of wear: selvages partly folded, many knotheads visible, loss of a single row of knots. No grey zones, all sides secured. The design however is absolutely superb and to contemplate it gives one a taste of the sacred. i am not much of a photographer but i doubt if any image could catch the splendor of the blue field.
