turkish Ottoman Ceremonial Saddle Blanket Embroidered metallic Thread
This is a beautiful hand embroidered saddle cloth a blanket for a special occasion for a horse to wear.
It is fully covered using the running stitch, with metallic thread entwined with colored thread of pastel green, purple, orange and blue. It has two crescent moons on each end, two central diamonds, with the calligraphy Tughra. It also has a calligraphy border, and floral and paisley shapes. It had a black added border made with velvet ribbon, with cotton cord crochet, with another metallic thread crochet border. It has tassel on each of the ends.
The backing is a soft cotton canvas, with sewn ties, 4 main ties, and 4 smaller ties. Some staing on the white canvas. The overall condition is good.
It measures 77 inches x 27 inches, and weighs about 3 lbs.
