. The weaver of this sweet little Kurdish bag or chanteh was free-spirited and most likely did not make it for resale but meant to it to be an Heirloom piece. She did not worry so much about symmetry but was more concerned about being creative with a rather simplistic design. Her weaving experience is revealed through her choice of quality dyes, wool, rich color combinations and a good use of space all within the confines of a relatively small field. i do not recall seeing Kurdish Piled bags with the diagonal format but i have seen many sumack ones with the small swastika design. It measures 11 by 15 inches or 28 by 38 cm. and is around 100 years old.
