An Excellent Antique Turkoman / Turkmen silver pendant with gold painted and fired and carnelian inset. These heart shaped pendants (worn in a necklace ) are known as 'Asyk' and this example was made by the Tekke / Teke tribe. It is an exceptional example (a similar piece was published in Dieter and Rainhold Schletzer book "Old Silver Jewelry of the Turkoman" and Johannes Kalter book on Linden Museum Collection). The balance in its design, the work and the quality of the silver , gold and carnelian easily makes it as one of the most coveted Jewelry made by people of Central Asia . Unlike so many later reproductions one sees in the market, this is the real deal. a beautiful tribal piece in a good condition and offered at a fair price. Size 15cm x 9cm (6" x 3.5"). Weight approx. 85 grams. Email me your questions.
