Mumford in his book "Oriental Rugs" (Bramhall House 1981 edition): "Very rarely a pure Bokhara is found with a field of blue instead of red. These are greatly prized." (Op.cit. p231). This carpet has a total of 17 major and minor border margins from the outermost sides to the centre field/main ground comprising the "Tauk Naksha" Primary Gul. All Wool. Approximate Size: 177cm(5ft.9in) x 133cm(4ft. 3in).
