a 3-piece, early 20thCentury Burmese "Hsun-oke" with Glass Bowl (Food Carrier used in collecting Alms). Bamboo Top and Base sections, Lacquered and Gilded with coloured mirror-glass inlay.
Provenance: Likely crafted in Bagan before gilding and inlays were completed by skilled Mandalay craftsmen (as was usual during this period).
Approx.Dimensions: (i) Base Section: 23cm(Diameter); 72.5cm(Inner Circumference at top);
76.5cm(Outer Circumference at bottom).
(ii) Glass Bowl: 21cm(Diameter); 81cm(Circumference).
(iii) Top Section: 26.5cm(Diameter); 83cm(Circumference).
The item is in very good condition consistent with age and use.
