Here is a good 19-century Baluch with firey red border and Deep, Deep relief. It has a lot of aubergine in the borders, tracing the designs in the field and a strong purple dotting the running dog design in the minor borders. The aubergine in the field that traces the blue diamonds that outline the rosettes seems to be a little lower than the other colors except for that of the black which has the deepest corrosion of all. You almost get a 3d effect. It is very meaty and heavy more like that of a Persian Bidjar and all the colors are deeply saturated. The firey red border is a strong deep red all over unlike some of the photos that look as though the border fades in different areas, Baluch collectors know how hard it is to photograph them. It could use a cleaning. Measures 39 inches by 82 inches or 99 x 208 cm.
