a very rare complete antique silk embroidered Turkoman / Turkmen Yomud / Yomut trousers dating to the 19th Century. This highly collectible ethnographic garment is attributed to the Persian Yomud tribes. Such silk embroidered trousers worn underneath the chemise is very likely a bridal garment, which explains its great condition. Such pieces were often stored away after the wedding. It has fine polychrome silk embroidery near the edges with intricate and archaic motifs. The top section is hand spun cotton with intricate botehs, with a string belt with silver looped inside to adjust the waste. The silk embroidery runs around the ankle. Finding a complete piece is rare, especially one as good as this. In good condition and fair price. size: waste to bottom is 87cm (34") . Waste is adjustable.
