Chinese or Japanese silk textile. 57x36 cm. Age and religious or profane purpose unknown. This exquisite fragment was part of a old German private collection of Asiatic textiles varying from the 11th till the 18th. Century. Most probably these were imported into Germany after having been excavated in Uygur and China.
