Back
moroccan middle atlas berber rug originating from the Berbers of the region of Boujad where it was woven around 40/50 years ago. It is a piece which was used by a Berber family probably as a hanging or room divider because it has remnants of the original built in loops for hanging at each top corner. The design of squares throughout is typical of Boujad although the color combinations differ greatly. It appears as if the first weaver had decided to arrange the squares on a diagonal pattern but either gave up or handed over to another weaver after only a small part was completed. This again is very typical Boujad practice. The rug is in excellent condition and is an authentic, old, Berber piece. i found it in the region. Reference 2821. Size 157 x 85 cms., or 5ft. 2ins. x 2ft. 10ins. Euros 385.
