19th Centry. COPE Body of cream silk brocade with silver and gold metallic in floral design on side front sections. Back brocade of cream brocade with stylized fleur de lis design. Back neck flap very fine hand embroidery of St. Peter as Pope. Showing head piece with Russian cross on top. Gold and silver metallic threads as accents mixed with silk threads used to create image. 3/4" border of silk and metallic thread hand embroidered floral flower and vine at edge. Trimmed with metallic tape and fringe. 5" larger matching embroidery on front edges of cope. Excellent condition.
