a rare antique pair of Turkmen / Turkoman gold appliqué on silver earrings attributed to the Yomud / Yomut tribes. This pair dates to the late 19th century / early 1900’s and is a very good example of such earring. This ethnographic jewellery has a wonderful archaic design. Made of high grade silver with gold appliqués and glass insets. The animal motifs near the loops is a very good touch. An excellent piece as good as any museum or published example. Top examples such as this pair is not easy to find and shouldn’t be confused with the later replicas that have flooded the market. In a good overall shape with natural age patina. Size: 7.5cm (3”) each earring. Offered at a fair price.
