An beautiful Antique Uzbek Bokhara Suzani / Susani dating to the 19th Century. It is fine silk embroidery on Karbos (hand woven cotton) fabric using a chain stitched technique. The lattice floral field design with botehs and shrubs stemming out is beautifully executed. The borders consists of larger disc shaped flowers and interspersed with smaller flowers and shrubs. The intricate detail is really gorgeous. These particular sized pieces are referred to as Nim Suzanis as in halfings. They were often more intricate in design and detail compared to the larger examples. i love the green colour alteration each side of the field... it is not a flaw but the way they made these things. In a very good condition and very clean as seen on the photo. Email me your questions. Size: 152cm x 100cm (60" x 39")
