Oushak Carpet 14.0 x 18.2 4.26 x 5.54 The abrashed soft madder red field of this western Turkish workshop carpet displays an allover yaprak ("leaf") pattern mixing ragged palmettes and broken, hooked lozenges with stylized "leaves". The pattern goes back to 18th century Smyrna Oushaks. The well-abrashed blue/green border displays a rosette and hyacinth design. The carpet has allover wear, but it is still quite viable with no worn areas. Circa: 1920 (c14704)
