Kerman Carpet 9.7 x 12.10 2.95 x 3.68 Traditionally termed 'Lavar', this se Persian urban carpet has a huge, layered, all navy medallion exploding out of the ecru field and only constrained by the cochineal corners. The accent tones include sky blue, pistachio and buff. The ivory main border shows closely set simple turtles and intervening rosettes. The condition is quite good for the age with all colours clear and bright, and a generally good pile. a beautiful carpet. Period. Circa: 1900 (41859)
