Sistan Baluch flatwoven trapping, early 20th Century. size= 1'0"x8'5". a minority of Baluch weavings can actually be attributed to Balochistan proper. This long trapping woven finely with floating weft technique is expertly dyed with all natural colors. Baluch weavings from this region are exemplified by their retention of an exemplary array of natural dyes well into the 20th century and particularly for their adept use of secondary colors. This piece displays a spectacular range of greens and a great aubergine. This distinctive object type is particular to the Baluch of this region.
