Antique Zhuang Childs Blanket: Very rare antique, circa early 20th century supplementary weft silk floss embroidered, on a natural indigo dyed base of hand spun cotton thread, child’s blanket from the Zhuang ethnic group, Binyang County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Province, China. This has a very unusual pattern i have seen only on one other Zhuang textile, please note the center field is covered with a repetition of the Chinese character “Wang”, which means king, also quite unusual are auspicious coin symbols. There is one simple repair in enlargement #5, as well as some minor loss to a few of the wang characters. Dimensions 71cm/27.9in x 73cm/28.8in.
