Kerman Carpet 9.9 x 16.11 3.01 x 4.91 The natural scarlet cochineal red field is densely covered by a palmette, long leaf, boteh leaf and escutcheon allover, unidirectional pattern. a variety of small flowers and leafy vines fills every crevice. The wide single band border in navy displays a rich variety of palmettes emitting long leaves and swirling vines. The palette is wide including pale and medium blue, yellows and beiges and a salmon-buff. The condition is very good, with long pile everywhere and well-preserved colours. Circa: 1920 (56478)
