Because the sari has been worn a lot and had some holes, it was professionally mounted on a thin red cotton cloth. The colours are very good and not faded.

This pattern is called “vohra gaji bhat”, a design favored by theVohra Muslims. The undyed silk is carefully counted, thread by thread, and arranged according to the requirements of the pattern, so that all the threads that are to receive the same pattern are collected in bundles in the correct order and then tightly wrapped. After several wrapping and dying operations, the desired patterns appear both on the warp and on the weft. The bundles are then undone, the warp threads are attached to the loom in their final order and the weft is spooled. The laborious weaving process has to be carried out with the greatest precision.
