An early and archaic piece right down to the very realistic drawing of the dears/dogs with their curly horns/ears and tails. The animals at the top of the field even have eyes. In the hand panels, there is also a very an unusual shrub design which i don't recall ever seeing before in these panels and could not find it anywhere else. i saw a similar treatment of the branches in a Turkoman tent band. There is what looks to be a cluster of 5 holes in the field, the second and third from the top are white spots and are not holes but what appears to be incrusted white paint. There is a hole in the bottom left corner of the left-hand panel. i tested the areas around the holes to see if there is dry rot but they all feel firm. Approx. 3 x 6 ft.
