Rice cutter, Khymer culture, Cambodia. Horn, aluminum, iron, 10.5" (26.6 cm) high, 22" (56 cm) wide. Mid-20th century. The gracefully curved part of the ox horn was used to gather a handful of rice plants and then with a skillful turn of the wrist, the sheaf was cut with the iron blade. There is an unusual aluminum reinforcement to the tip.
