19 c. Bukhara Star Medallion Suzan Center of 8-point star medallion with floral pattern. Floral and vine pattern surrounding medallion between border and medallion. Floral border of 10 ½” framing piece. Silk hand embroidery over all using the basma stitch/ Bukhara couching intermixed with chain stitch. Hand woven natural cotton linen background of four panels of 1’4” width. Backed with fine linen panels of same width. Hanging flaps at top of same material. -No stains or holes except some damage and repair at bottom corners. -Slight thread loss of embroidery, mostly chain stitch areas. -Overall size: 5’4” x 6’10” -Uzbekistan, Central Asia
