Kuba rug, 7 ft x 4.5ft. (216 x 134 cm.) Around 1900. The design with an interesting version of the Gollu Chichi pattern, that shows affinity with both Seichur and Perepedil Kuba rugs. This rug probably originated in the village of Ugakh, where this particular design is most prominent. In later examples from Ugakh, the cross motifs become one central vertical axis, crossed by golden yellow horizontal rods ( Azadi, Azerbaijani-Caucasian rugs, plate 30) Condition: a few areas of wear, folding creases and side damage.
