This "Kifwebe" mask belong to the Bwadi Bwa Kifwebe secret society of men of the Songye ,in southeast of Congo.The masks appear with full-body costumes made of bast fibres for initiationsa,funerals or in security fuction. The exterior and interior with good,older usage patina ,1900 or 1st third of the 20th century,of wood ,with crest ( male mask -no crest = female mask ),h:45 cm. 1 small damage owing to age to the forehead.
