Back
Well maintained, finely woven antique Caucasian Kuba rug, approx. 350 kpsi. Nice use of colors, well saturated.
Guesstimate of age at 1900 (between late 1800's - very early 1900's). Unusually good condition for a 100+ year old rug. Size is 3' 10" x 5' 6"
Nearly a complete rug with minor loss to ends which have been secured to prevent further wear (a few linear inches on one end would benefit from stabilizing stitching again to reinforce it). It has just a few fairly well done small repairs: one reweave about 2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide, and minor spots of wool re-piled around outline of a few of the star design elements.
