antique middle Amu Darya tribal Ersari Turkoman chuval 171 x 96 cm (5ft 8" x 3ft 2") mid 19th century. All natural dyes. Condition: good, evenly medium to low pile with minor wear, original 3 fold selvedges complete and intact, original upper ending complete and plain ivory kilim finishing folded back with closing loops mostly intact, lower ending complete and intact and plain ivory kilim finishing folded back. no restorations, 1 weak spot due to a few breached warps (last pic). Technicals: asymmetrical knotting open to the right pile turned upwards, warps: brown wool 2 strands twind clockwise, wefts 2 shoots of wool in shades of ivory, grey and brown, floppy texture.
