This impressive white-ground kilim is a weaving of the Hotamis Turkmen of the Konya region. It is woven in one piece, so unlike the two-panel kilims of this group there is no misalignment of the design along the central axis.Three huge hexagons, their hooked arms extending far to the sides, take up the full length and width of the field. This powerful motif appears to have been a specific tribal design of the Hotamis Turkmen, although a slightly modified version was also used by the Aydinli Yürük.Whereas the first and third hexagons show blue hooked outlines, the outlines are red in the central hexagon.
