An exceptional and very rare antique Syrian or Lebanese silk woven bag / pouch dating between the late 18th century and early 19th century. Syria and Lebanon produced some of the most elegant silk textiles in the whole Middle East, as demonstrated by this fabulous example. The main body of the purse is crochet work, with the bottom and top sections boasting gorgeous rainbow of natural colours and elegant design. It has draw string closure near the top. In mint condition, such bags are very collectible and hard to find. Size 17cm x 8cm (7” x 3”).
