Antique pair of heybe (saddle bags) from the Bergama region of Western Anatolia (Turkey). www.knightsantiques.co.uk Size: 4ft 8in x 1ft 6in (142 x 46cm). Circa 1900. This complete pair of saddle bags are in near perfect condition, the piled faces have a large star design. An outstanding feature is the stripped flat woven backs decorated with bands of weft work. The bags have excellent colour including a pleasing soft yellow. Excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. Hand washed and ready for display. Stock Number: r-1600.
