19th c. Silk Medallion Suzani
Two pointed flower medallion center of 30” length and 1’4” width. Two 13” floral roundels and two 13” melon shaped roundels at opposite diagonal corners. Two 12” floral roundels each side of center medallion. Hand silk embroidery of satin filled stitch and some basma stitch throughout textile. Hand woven natural color silk background of two 1’7” and one 9” panel. Eight colors of rose, fushia, yellow, green, turquoise, lavender, white and tangerine. 2” flower and vine border around all of textile.
